police clearance from Nigeria for US immigration visa

I was working with HADEJIA JAMA'ARE RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY KANO AT KANO,under FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA from 1981 t0 1986 on deputation from government of India as principal irrigation engineer.
Please advise me the correct procedure of getting police clearance from Nigeria police for submitting to US embassy for getting US immigration visa.
